Horseback riding is beneficial for people who live with all types of disabilities. Students are given the opportunity to feel freedom and independence when they are riding a horse. SPUR offers the following riding services to the community.
Therapeutic Riding Program
Therapeutic riding teaches individuals who live with disabilities how to ride a horse. Individuals gain both physical and emotional rewards through challenging and stimulating activities and improve balance, strength, coordination, confidence, concentration and self-discipline while having fun. Horseback riding has been shown to be one of the most beneficial forms of recreation for people with all types of disabilities.
